There are three types of Mastery Scrolls: Mastery Scrolls can only be found as a reward in the Minotaur’s Labyrinth, but you can instantly upgrade a Champion’s Masteries using Gems from within the Mastery interface. To unlock Masteries, Champions will need to win Scrolls from the Minotaur's Labyrinth. For example, to unlock a Tier 5 Mastery, a Champion must be Rank 5 or higher. Champions cannot unlock Masteries that are from Tiers higher than their Rank. There are 6 Tiers of Masteries in each Branch. Masteries fall under one of three branches - Offense, Defense, or Support - to help Champions specialize for their role.Įach Champion can only unlock Masteries from up to two Branches at the same time. So essentially if you’re still beating early stuff, I don’t think they AS IMPORTANT as they are the last 1/4 of the game.Masteries are special passive abilities that enhance a Champion’s performance by improving their Stats, upgrading their Skills, or giving them entirely new and unique bonuses. After focusing on them, after neglecting them for most of my gameplay, when I did them on dozens of champs (even only t5 maybe t6 on some) I progressed pretty quickly where I had been stuck on later game content. When progress stalled out a bit (mostly FW and DT hard) I couldn’t just keep grinding gear and hoping to pull better champs, so I started focusing on masteries, when I did that I realized, maybe not early to mid game they matter, but as you get close to endgame or late game content they make a big difference. A lot of mine had a few rows done (except for CB team) and I was completing lvl 20 dungeons, normal DT, G4 arena, and decent parts of FW, and that was with only my 5 CB champs having masteries. I remember having your same thought process, and I will disagree with most here (to an extent) I went SO LONG thinking the same thing and not seeing a huge benefit for masteries.
